CARROLL BRADFORD is searching for a top-performing and experienced Estimator in the Commercial Construction Industry.  This position will work directly with clients and the sales team to secure new opportunities and create bid packages for both Residential and Commercial Construction Projects. Our ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of commercial construction management experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management.

CARROLL BRADFORD is a general contractor working primarily in Central Florida with an emphasis on, but not limited to, concrete, masonry, and roofing construction projects.  Target markets include Tract Home Building, Assisted Living Complexes, Storage Facilities, Medical Facilities, and Retail Commercial Projects.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ability to review construction design plans and identify the scope of work.
  • Ability to lead the estimating process from inception to submission, including takeoffs, RFI’s, client engagement, and identifying missing items or details in the scope of work.
  • Manage clients, project pipeline, and bid deadlines in the company software.
  • Assist in developing continuous improvement within our day to day business operations.
  • Assist in creating pre-construction and post-construction schedules and documents.
  • Attend pre-construction and in-progress meetings as required.
  • Engage with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to assist in cost estimating.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 Years Commercial Construction Management and/or Estimating with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or equivalent is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and business management skills are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Plan, prepare, and execute training strategies by facilitating classes, providing technical assistance, and/or individual coaching.
  • Use preventative education to ensure employees think proactively to prevent accidents.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all laws surrounding construction safety.
  • Complete DOT Prequalification files on all new DOT regulated drivers & complete periodic audits to ensure all DOT files remain accurate, up to date, and in compliance with laws & regulations.
  • Visits job sites regularly to review safety compliance and polices.
  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
  • Provides guidance to managers and employees about safety issues and concerns and ensures that OSHA programs and safety records are well maintained.
  • Coordinates accident prevention programs.
  • Plans and conducts safety training programs involving work site safety practices.
  • Coordinates daily and weekly meetings, completes safety reports and ensures all field training is up to date and compliant with OSHA and our safety policies and procedures.
  • Assists in accident investigation and workers compensation reporting.
  • Manages fleet of vehicles including vehicle assignment, driver verification, registration, record management and insurance.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Candidates must hold and provide valid OSHA certifications and other applicable certificates.
  • 2+ years of construction safety training experience.
  • Preferred Certifications: CHST, CSP, COSS “Hands on” safety trainer preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, DOT, ANSI).
  • Working knowledge of construction practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and well organized.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook proficient.
